Educator Grants
Educator grants are for independent instructors, local music schools, and public/charter schools serving Oakland youth. Our grants provide financial support for students to participate in group music programs and performance experiences.
Grantees will have an opportunity to participate in a showcase sponsored by the Foundation.

Serving students who either reside in Oakland or attend Oakland public/charter schools
Evidence of 3+ years of teaching experience
Instructor with Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Music, highly desirable
Accredited school, if applicable
Business in good standing with Secretary of State

Award amounts up to $5,000

The grant can provide support for:
Music course instructor subsidy (in addition to California’s Arts, Music, & Instructional Materials Block Grant)
Lesson materials (sheet music, books, music stands, and similar supplies)
Musical instruments
Technical or recording equipment
Music-related software
Instrument maintenance or repairs
Production Equipment
Class admission to educational performances
Fees associated with competitions
Exam or testing fees
